Creativity for Wellbeing - Stained Glass Mosaics

Make a beautiful stained-glass mosaic panel.

This course is suitable for absolute beginners (no experience is necessary) and for those with some experience who want to develop their mosaic glass work. Beginners will be taken through a structured course, step by step, to include all the stages essential for making a mosaic stained-glass piece.

This will cover design, cut line drawings, selecting and cutting coloured glass, leading, soldering, cementing and finishing techniques. Continuing students can work on individual project work to develop their design and craft skills, as well as experiment with new techniques, e.g. fusing, copper foil, kiln-fired glass paint/stain/enamels. You will learn how to: Cut glass safely Shape glass to size with pliers Cut leads accurately Solder neatly Make a small piece of leaded stained glass Continuing students can experiment with new techniques.
