Beginners Black & White Photography Evening Course

Learn all about black and white photography on this enjoyable and informative six-week evening course led by experienced tutors Frank Menger and Nat Bevins

This practical 6-week course starts with students learning the basic functions of the 35mm camera, before moving on to exposure and loading and processing black & white film. By week three students are learning to enlarge their negatives in the darkroom, adding grading and dodging and burning skills to make beautiful photographic prints. 

Paper and processing chemicals are provided for the course, but students will need to provide their own black and white film.  

This course runs for 6 consecutive weeks on Thursdays between 6.00 and 8.30. The course starts on Thursday 8th of October 2026 and again on Thursday 15th of January 2027.
