We're looking for an Education Officer on a zero hours contract to help us to deliver the following activities during the summer:
Tribe Camp
A transition camp for referred Year 6 children who might find the move to Year 7 tricky. It's three days and two nights from July 25th to July 27th.
You will be paid at the usual rate for every awake hour and £50 for the overnight.
Summer Camp
A four day camp (no overnights) for 6 - 12 year olds from August 15th to August 18th between 8:30AM to 6:00PM each day.
Any applicants will need to be able to work both camps and preferably placed onto the zero hours staff database to help with cover in the Child and Youth Project.
Your skill set
Experience working with children or young people in an outdoor, out of school context
Experience in managing the different personalities of children, including those with complex needs
Ability to both assist in running a group and to lead short, one off group sessions
Good communicator with the ability to work with a diverse team and develop good relationships
Ability to support and inspire children and young people
Your approach
Commitment to learning new skills
Reflective of your work and a willingness to learn and adapt
Able to work without being supervised
Commitment to inclusion, equality and accessibility
In this job you will
Assist with running of whole group sessions or leading shorter, one off sessions
Help us to monitor and evaluate the children’s progress
Help us to plan the project and set up sessions
Inspire children’s interest in the natural world and help to develop their confidence, self esteem and wellbeing
