Training rooms in the Centre are available to hire and provide space for workshops, classes and courses
Glen's Kitchen is open 7 days a week serving traditional Jamaican and English cuisine. Pop in for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a cheeky takeaway! Glen's also serves a cracking roast on Wednesdays. Our spacious and well-equipped community darkrooms were established in 2005 and gained a reputation as one of the finest facilities in the country, providing tuition in traditional and alternative photographic processes. Darkroom facilities are now available for use on a sessional hire basis for individuals or groups. The darkrooms are fully accessible, and available 7 days a week during opening hours.
The darkroom includes:
10 enlargers - 4 black and white and 6 colour head
Enlargers accommodate 35mm and medium format up to 5 x 4 inch film formats
Floor standing enlarger; height adjustable for wheelchair users
Black & white printing room
Black & white film processing room
Film and print drying and daylight finishing room
Large UV box for cyanotype and alternative printing processes
We are pleased to offer a new Darkroom Membership scheme, which provides members with discounted sessional darkroom hire. Members will be kept informed about photography opportunities at the Learning Centre such as photography projects, courses, talks and exhibitions. Darkroom members must be over 18 years old.
Membership Fees are:
12 Months: £30.00 6 Months: £20.00
Darkroom Sessional Hire Fees are:
Members: £10.00 Non-members £15.00
3 Hour Darkroom Session: price includes B&W chemicals but not photographic paper. Darkroom sessions can be booked for any 3 hours that the Centre is open.
To become a darkroom member please download and complete the form, and bring it in to the Learning Centre Reception to pay and collect your membership card.

St Pauls Community Darkrooms can be booked for group projects and / or courses, by professional photographers, youth and community groups, teachers, trainers, schools and colleges, Your group or organisation can book the entire darkroom facility exclusively on a regular or one-off basis. We can provide a professional tutor and full technical support if required, and ensure you have the best equipment to make your course or workshop a success.
The library is located on the ground floor of the Learning Centre. There are also computers available within the library and in the centre café. To use the computers you need to have a valid library card and PIN. Printing is available at 10p a sheet for black & white and 60p for colour (A4). Good news! The library is now available out of hours to book for meetings and classes. You can rearrange the furniture to suit your needs but it will need to be put back at the end of your session. There are no concessionary rates available for hiring this space. There is an hourly flat rate of £16.
